Feature article: Bin Laden in Australia published March, 1999
Refer to: http://www.aijac.org.au/review/1999/243/nidaulislam.html
The article referenced above underscores
the lassitude, or incompetence of Australia’s primary national security
organization. Following effective police activity at the State level (Victoria)
in 1999, the national security organization failed to effect follow through. The
following individuals were reportedly associated with the home
invasion/terrorist incident in 1999, outlined elsewhere on this site.
Firas Khadir HUSSAIN; Issa Mahdi al KHALI; Khalil al QUAGOOLI ; Mustad al JAF.
The Australian connection to the Bin
Laden cells in New South Wales and Victoria Australia has not been effectively
assessed in Australia. It is a matter of national and international importance
that these connections, links and associations are assessed by Australian law
enforcement agencies - and not security intelligence organizations -
drawing on US sources to trace the Australian connections.
Australian security intelligence agencies have not been focused on the Middle East / Bin Laden threat. A benign “no threat culture” has flourished and been rewarded. Australia remains the “soft belly “of the US and international effort against terrorism.
