One thousand Bin Ladens
Inflammatory Australian Muslim Web Site - pro Bin Laden and pro Taliban
On Thursday 18 September
2001 the West Australian Islamic network emailed its subscribers: “America
has declared war on Islam. The bombs are now dropping. What are you going to do
about it?”
The network directed subscribers to the West Australian web site www.oureffort2001.com , created 18 September 2001. The website features a collection of statements from Bin Laden and others including:
Bin Laden’s interview with Unmat newspaper, 29th September 2001
Al-Qaeda statement, 10th September 2001
A transcript of Bin Laden’s taped remarks
Two Bin laden interview’s (1998).
The site features
statements made by (Dr) Shaykh Al-Qaradawi at his press conference on 11th
October 2001 in the Qatari capital of Dohar, that ‘it’s an obligation to
resist the US invasion of Afghanistan.’

The Sheikh claimed that the United States was responsible for “what had befallen it on the 11th of last month due to its blind impartiality towards Israel at the expense of the Arabs."
"I am not calling for a jihad against the United States but am calling for resistance against the American presence in this land through various means."
Under the sub
heading 'One thousand bin Ladins’, the Shaykh stressed that terrorism will
not be stopped by bringing down Bin Laden. "One thousand more people with
a similar frame of mind will go forth unless the United States rethinks its
foreign policies which have drive it to this result." The statement on
the Australian site concludes: "This declaration by Shakykh Yusuf al-Qaradawi
is his verified and legitimate position on this issue. May Allah reward and
protect the Shakyh for always being outspoken for the rights of Muslims all over
the world in spite of great danger to himself and numerous assassination plots."
